Gaming can be very demanding on computer hardware, so often gaming assets need to be as simple as possible to save on memory. As the artist it’s my job to find the point where the models are as simple as possible while still lookin’ good.
These assets were produce for Super Space Soccer!, an original game programmed in Unity as a self-guided school project. The Unity Game Engine was entirely new to me at the time, and I can honesly say that it was a blast! Sure I ran into problems along the way, but I learned so much in such a short time! The premise of the game is that Aliens attack during the Super Robot Super Soccer Super Tournament. When the planet is destroyed and the stadium launched into space, the robots have no reason to stop so they just keep playing!
Unforetunately just one week after , the web-based version I had embedded here crashed and became unplayable. But hopefully the New and Improved Super Space Soccer will be up and running again soon!
Here is a deep, penertrating look at the process in which I design games. Notice the subtle detailing, the elegant colors! I'm not sure why people are so interested in concept art, but there's plenty more where this came from!
